Answer #1: Creating the PSA Video for Week 3 has, without a doubt, been my favorite assignment of the month. After almost 20 years of doing video/musical production, it is great to see how much of that path has led me to this point.
After FSU, I plan on accepting clients for PSA edits, especially if it is to create a signature format that I can become known for.
Any job that allows me to create video/music is like therapy to me. Scripting this PSA was also fun, as I enjoy writing in AP format. Excited to see what else the next couple of courses have in store.

Answer #2: Why do I need to know how the always-on media world has impacted PR? Because journalism as we knew it ten years ago, much less twenty, operates on an entirely different set of rules. Five minutes on Twitter can erase five days of crafted messaging.
This chapter will prepare me to expect the unexpected; to understand how quickly a story can blow up, how narratives change from platform to platform, and how response time is now just as critical as response strategy.
Those who know how to work in this always-on world are the ones companies turn to when their reputation is on the line. I need to know this information because I am in the process of building a Ranch Resort, and our marketing will be online.

Answer #3: What I learned from Public Relations in a Digital World allows me to work with Public Relations professionals in many helpful ways.
I learned about public relations theory and practice and examined how the World Wide Web and 24-hour news media have transformed the planning, placement, and management of PR campaigns.
After this course, I will understand why PR professionals choose to do what they do in today's digital world. This is a great introductory course.

Answer #1:
Hands down, my favorite project this month was the podcast from Week Three. Each week gave us fantastic lessons, but this assignment really helped me learn because it not only required technical skills, but felt like our own creative product. What was really interesting to learn through this project was copyright and the usage of online content. How to source, license, and attribute audio clips, music, and other media located online is not commonly considered by most content creators.
However, it is the foundation of using online material without getting into legal trouble. My favorite part of this podcast was getting to write my own sponsor ads. Creating my own copy really allowed me to dive into a passion for the production side that I could call my own. I loved seeing there was so much room for my own creative work while staying within the law and guidelines. I will definitely keep this mixture of learning in my future.

Answer #2: Some subjects this month will serve me well in my future endeavors with communications. Particularly, copyright and intellectual property law are related to digital content and the internet. I also found the sections on defamation/libel/slander, and the First Amendment and media interesting.
The privacy section was also insightful, as privacy on the internet is a large topic when it comes to discussing journalism, advertising, and social media. These topics aren't just for lawyers. They are what communications professionals deal with every day. I'm enjoying the master's program.

Answer #3: I think what will benefit me most in the future is how this course has changed my mindset. Before this class, legal issues around media seemed kinda vague to me. I will remember to ask the licensing questions before using third-party materials, and to be honest, I'd like to avoid it. by creating my own content. Another valuable takeaway was learning how traditional media laws translate to digital platforms. More importantly, I learned how those laws can fall short in those spaces. That understanding is crucial.
Media technology will always evolve faster than the laws that govern it, which means communications professionals will always face gray areas. When that happens, I now have a foundation for approaching those dilemmas. Instead of being reckless or overly cautious, I can be a more effective communicator who operates with an informed sense of responsibility.
